Brighton have lost on each of their last four visits to play Tottenham in the capital and the host’s superior firepower makes them our favourites to succeed again on Saturday.

A trio of defeats to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-finals and Premier League seemed to take the wind of Tottenham’s sails just before the international break and Antonio Conte didn’t hold back in his assessment of the team’s performances against his old employers.

The Italian has been clamouring for new signings and he was handed two before the January window slammed shut in the form of ex-Juventus pair Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski – though both players are expected to start on the bench this weekend.

With Spurs already out of Europe, the FA Cup represents their last chance to win some silverware in Conte’s maiden campaign and Tottenham should be able to prolong their run in the competition at Brighton’s expense on Saturday.

Albion are no pushovers and they take a seven-game unbeaten run to the capital this weekend, though their record in London against Tottenham makes for grim reading.

Spurs have shot down the Seagulls in each of the teams’ last four meetings in North London and with Harry Kane – who has scored four times in his last eight games – inching back to his best for the hosts, Albion could come unstuck again.

Brighton have played some eye-catching football under Graham Potter this term, though their constant inability to turn promising play into goals means their results don’t shine as brightly as they might have.
