Administrative Issues Halt Ziyech’s Move to PSG on Deadline Day

Hakim Ziyech failed to secure a loan move from Chelsea to PSG on deadline day, reportedly due to documents being submitted too late and a computer issue with France’s football governing body.

The proposed loan move of Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech to Paris Saint-Germain has fallen through on deadline day, despite both clubs having reached an agreement.

The Morocco international, who signed for the Blues under Frank Lampard from Ajax, has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge but has shown glimpses of his quality in recent performances, including the World Cup.

Despite head coach Graham Potter praising Ziyech, he was not part of the club’s plans for the upcoming season under the new owners. However, a late move to PSG seemed to be on the cards, with reports suggesting that Ziyech was even willing to help financially.

Despite all signs pointing to a successful move, it appears to have collapsed due to a combination of the late submission of documents by Chelsea and a computer issue with the LFP (France’s football governing body). Although there is a possibility of an appeal, the chances of a switch being granted appear unlikely at this stage.
